Last week, the AEON project had the opportunity to present the state of taxiing operations in a press presentation held at the World ATM Congress 2022 in Madrid. The WAC is the most relevant event in the ATM domain. It connects more than 6000 people from 110+ countries around the world.
The project illustrated how the only ground movements of 2019 represented about 5% of aircraft fuel consumption or 18,500 tonnes of CO2 emissions each day. Then, it presented how the AEON concept of operations aims to combine Taxibots, E-Taxi systems, and single-engine taxiing to make the best of each, saving fuel and CO2 emissions.
